Weird week.

First mysterious "explosions" in Kokomo, which ended up being the Air National Guard doing training to break the sound barrier.  Now an earthquake.  It always gets me that people are so surprised about it.  We aren't that far from a fault line, specifically the Wabash Valley Seismic Zone which is part of the New Madrid Seismic Zone.  I've heard of it before, and they taught us about it when I was in elementary or junior high.  If there were to be a significant earthquake like in 1811-12, there could be a ton of damage to infrastructure and communication.  In the wiki it says that a big enough quake could cause the Mississippi to temporarily flow backward.  Crazy.  If you really want to know what could happen the History Channel has a show called Mega Disasters.  The episode about the New Madrid fault line is called Earthquake in the Hearland.  They show what would happen with computer models and special effects.  I linked the teaser trailer, you have to scroll down on the little side box to find the episode.

Anyway, I better stop now.  I'm starting to freak myself out a little.

Other than the earthquake not much else has been going on.  I have to write a paper for Film Theory.  I'm writing about feminism and Hitchcock.  Alfred Hitchcock was pretty sexist, but some of his movies show women in more dominant roles.  So, I'm going to write about how some feminist theorists may have misjudged his movies.  Woohoo.  Sounds fun.
